Part of Norway Public Utilities, and housed in the Department of Power and Light, the City's Cable Department provides citizens with telephone, television, and internet services.  These services provide critical means of communication.
While each clerk at City Hall normally works until 5:00 p.m., Cable Department staff work only until 3:00 p.m.  Please call in advance to schedule an appointment.

For questions about service installation, reconnection, transfer, disconnection, etc., or about billing or fees, first contact the Utility Billing Clerk at City Hall; 915 Main Street, 906-563-9961, extension 201, or utilitybilling@norwaymi.gov.

Residents who opt to subscribe to either telephone service only, or internet service only, are charged a Single Service Fee.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESS

In the event you have a complaint about your cable television service, you must contact us first. If we are not able to resolve your issues satisfactorily, please forward your cable television complaints to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). You may find them online at www.michigan.gov/mpsc or reach them toll-free at 1-800-292-9555 during their office hours.

Who do I contact about telephone, television, or internet problems?

If you are experiencing problems with your service(s) during clerks' normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., contact City Hall at 906-563-9961, extension 200, 201, or 202.  An appointment for your service issues to be addressed can be scheduled for as soon as possible.  Same-day appointments are not guaranteed, and at no time can be expected after 2:40 p.m.; any service maintenance after 3:00 p.m. will result in a $40.00 service charge.   


Telephone or Lifeline television problems after hours?

If on Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., you have lost telephone or Lifeline television connection and deem it an unreasonable risk to wait and make a request for reconnection until Cable Department staff's next scheduled working hours, you (or perhaps a neighbor) can call (906) 563-9961, extension 299, to signal for help. 

If you are without these service(s) outside the hours outlined above, and deem your communication barrier a potential safety risk, locate the nearest working telephone, and call (or ask someone else to call) 563-9961; when prompted, press 4 to leave a message for an on-call support technician. 
*If you have a Cable Department staff member called out for any telephone or television problem other than those specified in the above two paragraphs, or for internet problems, you will be billed a $40.00 service charge.
